The Deutsch DT Series Connector Kit provides a reliable and professional solution for creating strong, secure and weather-resistant electrical connections. Designed for automotive, transport, mining, agricultural, marine and industrial wiring applications, Deutsch DT connectors are widely used where dependable electrical performance is required in harsh operating environments.
The DT Series features durable thermoplastic connector housings, positive locking mechanisms and environmental sealing components that help protect electrical terminals against moisture, dust, dirt, vibration and common automotive contaminants. This makes the connector kit ideal for new wiring installations, electrical accessories, equipment repairs and replacement of damaged factory connectors.

- One DT Series plug housing
- One DT Series receptacle housing
- Compatible plug and receptacle wedge locks
- Male pin contacts
- Female socket contacts
The exact quantity of terminals and components will depend on the selected 2-way, 3-way, 4-way, 6-way, 8-way or 12-way configuration. Always check the selected variant and package contents before ordering.
Reliable Environmental Sealing
The DT Series uses integrated housing seals and individual rear-wire sealing cavities to help prevent moisture, dust and debris from reaching the electrical contacts. When correctly assembled with compatible terminals and properly sized cable, the connector provides a dependable electrical connection suitable for demanding operating conditions.
The connector’s environmental protection makes it particularly useful for wiring located in engine compartments, machinery, vehicle chassis areas, external lighting systems and other locations where ordinary unsealed connectors may be unsuitable.
Typical Applications
Deutsch DT Series connectors are commonly used for:
- Four-wheel-drive accessories
- LED driving lights and work lamps
- Warning lights and beacons
- Automotive wiring harnesses
- Trucks, trailers and commercial vehicles
- Mining and earthmoving machinery
- Agricultural equipment
- Marine and boating systems
- Pumps, motors and solenoids
- Sensors and control circuits
- Communications equipment
- Emergency-stop circuits
- Reversing cameras
- Custom switch panels
- Electrical repairs and replacement harnesses
Durable DT Series Construction
The heavy-duty thermoplastic housings are designed to withstand vibration, impact and temperature changes commonly experienced in automotive and industrial environments. The locking latch provides an audible and tactile connection, while the wedge locks assist with correct terminal positioning and retention.
The plug and receptacle housings are polarised, helping prevent incorrect mating and reducing the risk of accidental cross-connection during servicing.
Available Configurations
The kit may be available in the following circuit sizes:
- 2-way
- 3-way
- 4-way
- 6-way
- 8-way
- 12-way
Select the required number of circuits from the available product options. Each circuit carries one individual electrical connection.
Assembly Information
For a reliable connection:
- Strip the cable to the correct length.
- Crimp the appropriate contact onto the cable using a compatible Deutsch crimping tool.
- Insert each contact through the rear seal until it locks into the housing.
- Install the wedge lock in the correct position.
- Connect the plug and receptacle until the locking latch engages.
- Gently pull each wire to confirm that the terminals are correctly retained.
A proper ratchet or indent-style crimping tool is recommended. Soldering contacts may affect terminal fit, flexibility and environmental sealing and should only be performed where specifically approved.
Please Note
Confirm the connector size, circuit count, terminal type and cable compatibility before ordering. Deutsch DT, DTM and DTP Series components are different and should not be mixed unless the manufacturer specifically confirms compatibility.
Environmental performance depends on correct assembly, compatible terminals, appropriate cable sizes and undamaged seals. A blanking plug should be fitted to any unused cavity to maintain environmental protection. Verify the electrical-current requirements of the connected equipment, as the connector does not provide overload or short-circuit protection.
