Compact DTM Series Design

The DTM Series is designed for applications where the standard DT Series connector may be too large or where lower-current circuits require a smaller connection system. Its reduced housing and contact size allows several circuits to be installed in a compact area while retaining the locking and sealing features associated with Deutsch connectors.

Environmental Protection

Durable and Secure Construction

The thermoplastic housings are designed to withstand the vibration, impact and temperature changes commonly experienced in mobile and industrial equipment. A positive locking latch provides an audible and tactile indication when the connector is fully engaged.

The plug and receptacle housings are also polarised to help prevent incorrect mating. Internal wedge locks help maintain terminal alignment and provide secondary contact retention.

Assembly Instructions

For best results:

1. Select cable within the compatible size range for the supplied contacts.
2. Strip the cable insulation to the correct length.
3. Crimp the appropriate pin or socket contact using a compatible Deutsch crimping tool.
4. Insert each terminated wire through the rear seal until the contact locks into position.
5. Fit the corresponding wedge lock.
6. Mate the plug and receptacle until the locking latch engages.
7. Gently pull each wire to confirm correct contact retention.

A suitable professional crimping tool is recommended to achieve the correct mechanical strength, electrical performance and environmental seal.

Please Note

The DTM Series is designed primarily for lower-current circuits and uses smaller contacts than the standard DT and heavy-duty DTP Series. Confirm the connected equipment’s maximum current, wire size and terminal requirements before installation.

Deutsch DTM, DT and DTP components are different sizes and are not interchangeable unless compatibility is specifically stated. Fit compatible cavity plugs to any unused positions to help maintain environmental protection.

The connector kit does not provide overload or short-circuit protection. Appropriate fuses, relays and circuit protection must be installed separately where required.
