The Hella 2151 DuraLED Amber Indicator Lamp is a heavy-duty rear direction indicator designed for trucks, trailers, commercial vehicles and other demanding transport applications. Featuring 24 high-intensity LEDs and an amber optical lens, the lamp produces a clear, highly visible flashing signal to communicate the vehicle’s intended turning direction to surrounding road users.
Its Multivolt 9–33V DC operation makes it suitable for both 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems. The built-in electronics regulate the LED output across the supported voltage range, helping maintain dependable illumination despite normal variations in vehicle supply voltage.
Designed for horizontal surface mounting, the Hella 2151 combines a hardened acrylic lens, robust black housing and completely sealed construction. This makes it well suited to vehicles exposed to vibration, dust, moisture, changing weather and frequent road use.

Clear Amber Indicator Signal
The lamp uses a dedicated amber optical lens combined with 24 high-intensity LEDs to create a clear and recognisable direction-indicator signal. This helps surrounding motorists identify when the vehicle is preparing to turn or change direction.
LEDs illuminate more rapidly than traditional incandescent globes, helping the signal reach full brightness quickly when activated. This is particularly useful on large commercial vehicles and trailers where clear communication with other road users is essential.
Multivolt 9–33V Operation
Hella’s Multivolt technology allows the 2151 lamp to operate across a broad 9–33V DC input range, making it suitable for both common 12V and 24V applications.
The internal electronics manage changing input voltage to provide stable operation and optimum LED brightness. This makes the lamp a versatile choice for mixed fleets, replacement repairs and custom vehicle builds.
Heavy-Duty DuraLED Construction
The Hella DuraLED range is developed for commercial vehicles and equipment operating in demanding conditions. The 2151 lamp incorporates a sealed construction to protect its internal LED components against environmental contaminants encountered during normal vehicle operation.
Its durable housing and hardened acrylic lens make it suitable for applications exposed to:
- Road vibration
- Dust and dirt
- Moisture and rain
- Stone and road debris
- Frequent commercial use
- Changing weather conditions
Correct mounting and sealed electrical connections are essential for achieving the best possible service life.
Integrated Electrical Protection
The lamp includes protection against reverse polarity and high-energy voltage transients. These features help protect the internal electronics against common electrical conditions that may occur in automotive and commercial-vehicle systems.
The lamp is rated at approximately 9 watts, providing effective signalling performance while maintaining the low power consumption associated with LED technology.
Pre-Wired 2.5-Metre Cable
The Hella 2151 is supplied pre-wired with approximately 2.5 metres of sheathed multicore cable. The generous cable length supports flexible routing and may reduce the need to position electrical joins immediately behind the lamp.
Any cable joins should be completed using correctly rated automotive terminals or sealed connectors and protected against moisture, vibration, abrasion and strain.
Typical Applications
The Hella 2151 DuraLED Indicator Lamp is ideal for:

Installation Information
The lamp should be mounted horizontally to a clean, flat and structurally secure surface using the appropriate mounting points, bushes and fasteners. Position the lamp so its optical face remains clearly visible and is not obstructed by bodywork, equipment or accessories.
Connect the lamp to the vehicle’s indicator circuit according to Hella’s wiring instructions. Because LED lamps draw less current than conventional incandescent globes, some vehicles may require a compatible LED flasher unit, load device or electronic configuration to maintain the correct flash rate and lamp-failure monitoring.
Please Note
This lamp provides an amber rear direction-indicator function only. It does not incorporate stop, tail, reverse or reflector functions unless those are provided by separate lamps elsewhere on the vehicle.
Confirm the exact Hella suffix, mounting orientation, connector arrangement and supplied accessories before ordering, as different 2151 variants may have different mounting or electrical configurations. Installation must comply with applicable Australian vehicle-lighting regulations.
